8 Years of Recruitment Excellence
It’s our birthday, and we’re celebrating 8 years of Recruitment Excellence. This milestone marks eight years since MAT Recruitment first began, and it feels like the perfect moment to reflect on how far we’ve come, how we’ve evolved particularly over the last 12 months and, most importantly, what continues to guide everything we do.
MAT Recruitment began with a simple purpose: supporting schools and candidates to find the right fit through thoughtful, ethical recruitment. While recruitment is still at the heart of what we do, our role has grown significantly. Over the years, and especially in the last year, we’ve shifted from being purely a recruitment consultancy to becoming a trusted partner one that schools, trusts, teachers, and support staff can genuinely rely on.
At the centre of that growth has been one unwavering goal: to carry out recruitment properly and effectively, always with students in mind. Being student-centred isn’t just something we say; it’s something that underpins every conversation we have and every decision we make. We know that when the right educator is placed in the right environment, students benefit first and foremost. That belief continues to shape how we work with schools and candidates alike.
Over the last 12 months, we’ve taken time to listen, reflect, and adapt. The education landscape is constantly changing, and we’ve grown alongside it. We’ve deepened our relationships with schools, spending more time understanding their values, cultures, and long-term priorities not just their immediate staffing needs. From this our long-term supply staffing solutions desk has grown. We understood that our clients although partial to permanent recruitment solutions, needed shorter term and interim cover to fill gaps and to ensure that no learner gets left behind. This has allowed us to move beyond quick fixes and instead support sustainable staffing solutions that benefit entire school communities.
We’ve also continued to expand the ways we support schools. Over the past eight years, we’ve worked with hundreds of primary, secondary, and specialist education needs settings, as well as building strong partnerships with Multi-Academy Trusts to help them grow and strengthen their teams. Over the past 8 years of recruiting excellence in education we came to understand how the needs of each and every education provision shifts. Whether schools have needed urgent short-notice cover, long-term placements, or additional tutoring support, we’ve been proud to stand alongside them when it matters most.
Equally important is the way we support our candidates. For us to achieve 8 years of recruitment excellence Over the last year, we’ve placed an even greater focus on transparency, honesty, and long-term development. We know that no two educators are the same, and no two career journeys look alike. We took the initiative to launch our staffing training modules, in which our educators can take free courses to professionally develop and stay on top of key compliance and safeguarding. From supporting Early Career Teachers as they take their first steps into the profession, to helping experienced staff find roles that reignite their passion, our approach has always been about what feels right, not just what’s available.
Growth for us hasn’t been about doing more for the sake of it. It’s been about doing better. Better listening, better matching, better support, and better outcomes for students. As we look back on the last eight years, we’re incredibly grateful for the relationships that have shaped our journey, from the schools that have trusted us, to the talented educators who come to us for guidance and opportunities.
Thank you for being part of our story so far. Here’s to the next 8 years of recruitment excellence, partnership, and making a meaningful difference within education.
