FGM Awareness Training
Recognising & Preventing FGM Training
As part of our safeguarding commitment and statutory responsibilities, all supply staff working through MAT Recruitment are required to complete the FGM Awareness Training module. This helps ensure you are fully informed about female genital mutilation (FGM), recognise potential signs, understand your duty to safeguard children and young people, and know how to respond appropriately.
Understanding FGM and its impact is essential for anyone working with children and young people. FGM Awareness training provides the knowledge you need to recognise warning signs early, take appropriate safeguarding action, and follow legal responsibilities with confidence. By completing the course, you help ensure that vulnerable pupils receive timely protection and the right support from trained professionals. Your awareness can play a crucial role in preventing harm and contributing to a safe, informed, and vigilant school environment
This training is delivered via the UK Government-funded free course on Virtual College: Recognising and Preventing FGM Training. Once you complete the FGM Awareness online course, you must upload your certificate to MAT Recruitment to record your compliance.
