My name is Leah and I am an English & Film Studies Graduate & an Academic Mentor for Teach First, teaching English Literature and Language to KS3 & 4 students. I am about to embark on my teacher training from September 2021 and I have a passion to support students in their education to achieve their best potential. I have experience tutoring small groups of students both face to face and online. I am passionate about differentiation and adapt my lessons to meet the needs of all students, including SEND and low ability. Throughout my lessons I focus on ensuring students have SPAG understanding as well as general formal language. I recap key features of writing to allow students to understand texts, poems and exam questions. I create a positive environment for my students who are excited to learn & this is evident in the progress they have made on a half termly basis.
